Many are thankful of the advent of high-speed internet because it has made possible what many just dreamed of before: that is, to work from home. The advantages of working from home are limitless. And no, it is not just because you can do work in your jammies.

The advantages of working from home include:

1. Time: When working from home, you get time for yourself and for others. This is especially great for new moms and moms with precocious toddlers you cannot leave alone for one minute. Working from home lets you control the time you spend on work; and even lets you take quick breaks every now and then. With working from home, you are responsible for your deliverables, and not beholden to spend eight straight hours sitting in front of your computer.

This is also great even when you do not have kids to take care of. You get time for yourself. You can maybe do some yoga or cooking in between work, or do the lawn. You can get a deeper fulfillment out of life with being able to balance your tie; such that you are not all about work, and you are not all about household chores and fun stuff neither.

2. Money: One of the advantages of working from home is that you can save tons of money you would likewise use for gas, commuting fare and eating out. Much of expenditures when working at the office are the overheads and “maintenance” cost anyway, right? With gas prices sky rocketing upwards, food and fare prices go up too. This leaves office workers with less take home pay. When you work from home, you are free from these costs. Plus, you get to maximize that fancy computer you got, and not let it be used only to check weekend emails or play a round of Zuma online.

3. Comfort: And yes, it is always great to be able to work in your "iammies", if that is what you feel like doing. One of the advantages of working from home is that you are in your element all of the time. You are always “at home.” this may make a big difference in your attitude towards work and attitudes towards life in general. The comfort that working from home provides somehow removes the trudge often associated with work.
